Last October, Robert Wright and his mother, Kathy, took over Qwik Pack & Ship on Periwinkle Way.

Robert and Kathy purchased the business from John Thomas who owned it for the last 14 years.

"John, the previous owner, taught me everything that I know now," said Owner Robert Wright. "He still comes out part-time and helps."

Robert manages the business while his mother Kathy, who has over 30 years experience in banking, keeps the financials in check

Qwik Pack & Ship handles many needs like packing, shipping, supplies, full-service printing, mailbox rentals, pick ups, storage, copies, notary and faxing.

"We even ship Pinocchio's ice cream and Bubble Room cakes," Wright said.

The young entrepreneur graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2013 with a marketing degree and a minor in management.

Wright grew up in the Bradenton-Sarasota area but made the move to Fort Myers after taking over the business.

The interior of the store was remodeled in August prior to opening. The interior received new flooring, new furniture and fresh paint. A new sign was added outside as well.

Shortly after taking over the business, Wright felt it was important to be a part of the community. He is a member of the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Chamber of Commerce and he is involved with the Young Professionals Association of Sanibel & Captiva.

"So far, I've met nothing but nice people. A lot of the businesses have been very supportive. It's been awesome," Wright said.

Qwik Pack & Ship is at 1456 Periwinkle Way Suite B. Their hours are Monday-Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They are closed Sundays.
